Tooth Fairy Team Visit to Southern Shan State

The ten schools constructed in Southern Shan State within the project year – 2009 were built using the fund donated by the Tooth Fairy project of Japan Dentist Association. The Tooth Fairy Team usually visits those schools to give the children dental care treatment and knowledge.
The team arrived Than-Te BEHS, Taunggyi township on 31st January 2019. The teachers, the local people and the students wearing their traditional costumes presented a heartwarming welcome. And then, volunteering Japanese dentists contributed dental checkup for every kid, illustrated how to brush teeth properly and use fluoride mouthwash in order to protect dental carries, offered the notebooks printed with pictures of dental health knowledge. They also handed the children Japanese traditional toys and souvenirs as parting gifts.
The guests arrived Pa-Nway school, Nyaung Shwe township in the afternoon on 31st January. The Japanese dentists visit Pa-Nway school and provide dental care treatments to the students almost every year. In 2017, they illustrated how to prevent from dental carries by using Fluoride mouthwash and this time, they did follow up activities. Then, the dentists offered notebooks including dental health care pictures, shared dental health knowledge and gave Japanese traditional toys to the children.
The dentist team headed to Nam-Pan BEHS in the morning on 1st February. The students of Nam Pan school warmly welcomed the guests and sang a lovely song which means “Let’s brush our teeth regularly” and then they did a traditional dance performance. Then, the dentists conducted dental checkup for middle-level and primary-level students and taught them the right way to brush teeth, how to prevent dental carries by using Fluoride mouthwash and offered notebooks with dental health knowledge pictures.
